hey peeps...i'm living n Toronto and am looking for a good vacation spot for end of February. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Some criteria:
Down south
Relatively inexpensive (preferably all inclusive)
Good beach
Good clubs and nightlife (has to be friendly to those not too in to trance, my buddies don't share the same taste in music as I, they are more on the gino side and Top 40...but I definitely prefer some trance & electronica representation)
This has to be relatively cheap and moderate so as not to overshadow hte trip planned for the summer of 2002: Greek islands and hopefully enough $ to hit Ayia Napa, Cyprus as well. The cold weather here is almost bearable just thinking of the good times to be had...

its cheap, its hot, lots of bars, all-inclusive resorts...
just dont drink any water! lol

Its funny cause my buds and I were considering P.V. We have been to Cancun and Acapulco ( Iwent to Cancun twice) so we are sick of those places but we love the setting. Nice beach, drink all day, tan, swim in the ocean and then go buckwild at night. LaBoom in Cancun rocks. Best music, finest girls, craziest drinks plus a red British phone booth in which I happened to strip for the masses in (haha...you'll never see the pictures since I have put them in the vault haha).
What resorts to stay in in PV? What clubs to hit? Plan of attack or strategy? I am going to party like its 1999. Ooops...that already passed didn't it...nevermind. |

Try Ibiza I've never been there myself but the place is the dogs bollocks according to everyone who's been there but its out of season in febuary , be careful of Ayia Napa, Uk Garage and loads of it with plenty of chucked in attitude, some greek islands are nice, I went to Zykianthos with some mates in July but it wasn't that good lol, the hotels looked , and the tour staff are wankers we nearly got chucked out of our apartment cos some dude grassed on us for playing music loud and made up stories that we were gobbing off at people, but I caught up with that bastard and his girlfriend hahaha I've never seen people run from me so fast in my entire life lol, but like I've heard theres some cool and bad places in the Medditerrainian and around there my mates got thrown out of a hotel in 2 days because they kept on jumping in the pool at 4 am, and being sick of the balcony, and genrally acting like yobs lol, that was one of the very popular places though. Theres some nice quiet places all the peaceful parts of the medditerriainian are cool, all the busy parts apart from Ibiza, are full of wankers, and people who listen to Uk garage and cheesy pop music, but some popular places might be good if your friends like top 40 music.
This year I'm hopefully going somewhere elsewhere then Europe, I have an idea but I'll see how the money go's. |

I have not checked the replies to this post recently...
I am definitely more into a party type of vacation since I have busted my arse over the past year and am really depressed about turning 25 a few days ago. I am getting into my Carlsberg years damnit!
I would love to hit Ibiza, I have tried and tried to convince my buddies to go. They made a very good point. Its damn expensive for us living in N.America. I know a gal who went last summer and she kept diverting me away from asking her about the costs involved cover charge at the bars, food, lodging, etc. I know the airfare alone is going to be more than what my buddies want to spend on the entire trip. That is something I will definitely do but not this year. I hear it costs like 10 British pounds for a drink and cover is like 20 pounds. To a Canuck such as myself that makes for very expensive nights (drinks to us would be like $25) since my friends and I stay away from mind-altering substances except unless its Amaretto hehe. But damn, I would love to be on a beach with lovely European women everywhere. Damnit, I cannot wait to go away. Winter sucks!!!
We have decided on the following possibilities (although I did argue to go to Ibiza or anywhere in Spain).
Punta Cana (Dominican Republic)
Puerto Vallarta (Mexico)
Miami (USofA)
We are leaning towards Punta Cana. I would like to hit Miami but my buddies are wussies and do not want to step foot in the US as they think Osama will be after us too. If you guys can recommend places to go at these locales and also which hotels to stay at it would be great! |

Go to CANCUN dude. last year i found a good deal to cancun for $700, it included 6 days and 7 nights in an all-inslusive beach side hotel which was also close to all the hot night spots.
i've been to many beaches all over the world and i'd have to say cancun is the best combonation of beaches and nightlift...don't bother looking elsewhere. |

i heard dominican republic has some nice 'electronic music' (what they call it) clubs
sheesh, $25 for a drink, thats insane!! get almost drunk before going in, and finish it up with one drink while inside :D or, bring some clear stuff with ya in a water bottle |

OK, its a done deal. I needed cheap, I needed parties and I needed sun and beach. I booked with my buddies to depart March2 to Puerto Vallarta Mexico.
Whats the verdict on this destination? Places to go, comments on the Blue Bay Getaway (hotel) etc. |
