Will the 2005 Hurricane Season in the Atlantic Basin advance into Greek letters?

With a very string Hurricane Wilma out there, I say it's easily possible now. We have over 41 days remaining until 30 November, the end of the season (and if anything happens between 1 & 31 December, it gets tacked on to the 2005 list) and we're up to 21 named storms in just the 2/3-mark of October.
So what do you think? |

| I thought there was more last year. I just remember sleeping over at my ex's house & the news talking about how many hurricanes FL had. Also that huge one that sat over FL for like 2 days. |

Hurricane Parties ROCK | What's a 'hurricane party'? Oh BTW, I believe we'll go to somewhere between Alpha (22 total, 1 Greek letter) and Gamma (24 total, 3 Greek letters). I believe that if we have any more named storms, one of them will be Hurricane-force, but nothing serious. Like it goes to Category 1 to show itself, then go out to sea.
I'd like to see a low Category 1 Hurricane Alpha that hits/harms no-one, that only becomes a hurricane for a few minutes/hours just to hit the record 22 named storms, then just go out to sea as the first Greek letter storm (besides when they used the phonetic/military alphabet to name storms).
I wouldn't be surprised if we get no more storms after Wilma, though. I still wonder why no Q, U, X, Y, or Z names were used. Maybe next year will have an extended list, featuring 26 names from the English alphabet (A--Z), before advancing into Greek letters. |
