I have a 20 degree curve to the left in my spine(bottom part). They call it Scoliosis or something. Usually happens to tall guys.
Pisses me off cause if you sit or sleep for too long..ur back will get very tense and the pain wtill start coming.
I was wondering if a chiropractor could straigten my spine allignment alittle or something??!
Surgery just aint worth it cause u need to have major scoliosis(at least more than 30 degree curve to get the surgery approved) |

see my earlier post..... go the RMT route. My wife is a massage therapist and treats several people with chronic degenerative scoliosis (btw, very common disorder but usually in older people). |

well seems like a bunch of my buddies have scoliosis too.
Even my brother has it..so i thought it wasnt a big deal...TILL I SAW MY ING SPINE ON X-RAY. Dude..it looked like a snake slithering..with that awful curve on the spine.
So moral isst possible that what ur wife is doing could actually straigten my spine and make me taller by a few inches?(cause that would be swell) |

I have a history of scoliosis in my family, but an examination about 5 or 6 years ago didn't show anything. I broke my collarbone in the fall of 2000 and either it didnt heal right or the calcium deposit over the break never went away. Sometimes, after lifting, the area feels more vulnerable. As a result, I dont feel as if im properly aligned, if that makes sense.
I'm in ok shape though my diet could certainly be better; Im running about 5 miles per week right now, and lifting 3 or 4 days per week. My mattress was starting to get a little worn, so I bought the foam pad. I sleep a little more comfortably with it but it hasn't changed my erratic sleeping behavior. Massage therapy is an affordable option at a local college. |

| Stretching and exercises to strenghten your torso muscles. Hot packs, wear back support belt to work and bend those knees. |

| I do alot of heavy stretching for my back cause I tend to get spasms and lower back pain occassionally. The best one is laying back and putting your legs over your head and touching your toes to the floor, but at the same time your lower back must be at a complete state of relaxation. |

getting adjustments from a chiro is releasing gas bubbles trapped between the vertebrae (sp?) not a "traumatic experience". a good chiropractor (hard to find by the way) won't "jerk" you violentlly...they do it softly with little or no effort.
u were right about a lot of things, but my ex had a lady who suffered from severe migraines...she went to every doctor in town and no one could figure it out and she even flew up to MN and went to the mayo clinic (best in the nation) and no one could figure out why she was having migraines....within 3 weeks of treating with my ex, they were gone. |

Strengthen and straighten yes.... taller = no
I have no idea how much the damage can be corrected. There is no cure for the condition that does not involve surgical intervention (that I know of). |
