Samsung unveils 19" laptop - a behemoth
is this cool or just plain silly? |

| Plain stupid, IMO. Unless of course, it weighs less than 5lbs.. |

It defeats the purpose of a laptop! They are supposed to be portable, but as they keep putting larger screens on them they kill the portable factor.
Thats like this Toshiba we have at work for $2750:
Its got a centrino processor. Good to save on power right? Well tack on a mobile Ge-force and a 17" screen and youve just shot your battery life all to hell! |

they should rename the bigger ones , portable or transportable or somthing like that , but laptop no way !!
I see the need for the bigger ones , I never need "laptop use"
For me its at the club or at home and handy to be able to take the whole computer not a hard drive or other storage device back and forth |

"Desktop Replacement" portable or "Laptop" portable are terms I've seen used. |

Stupid stupid stupid.
Give me a Sony Vaio X505 any day. 10.4" screen, 1.7lbs, yes. |

| 10.4 is really tiny - to do anythign useful on excel or have more than 3 windows, you need at LEAST 12.1 - IMO |

If your eyes are broken, yes, but I've found working on the 10.4" screen to be quite fine :) |
