What is "Funny"?

Not been getting much sleep recently...So like all good insomniacs, i think of the most random question to figure out.
So i was thinking...What is "Funny"? What makes something humorous? Why do we find things hysterical and start crying?
Any Psych students (Or Boomer) wanna answer this? ;) |

| Everything has some humor in it. A good sense of humor is one which is able to detect and appreciate that humor where others cannot. |

humour is relative. it's based upon ideals and stereotypes that can be manipulated to give a desired feeling of mockery or appreciation. the easiest way to understand humour is to take the most offensive form of humour (often the most basic form) and analyse why you find it to be funny.

A blonde and a brunette were taking the elevator to the lobby from the 25th floor. On the 23rd floor, a great looking man with ruffled hair gets into the elevator. The women exchange a look acknowledging just how good looking this man is.
The man gets off the elevator on the 12th floor. The women watch him exit the elevator. The brunette turns to the blonde and says,
"God was he good looking, but someone ought to give him some Head & Shoulders."
To which the blonde replies, "How do you give Shoulders?" |
