Hmm.. it's not bad.
I saw a package like this for $250-260 here in the States. Not sure whether the headphones were included.
I suggest you buy Numark TT-1520, which is what I did. TT-1520 costs some more but it's direct-drive, which is a lot better. I think it IS worth spending more money on direct-drive. These days, you can easily find a pair of brand-new 1520's for $300. Add a decent mixer, probably $100. It's about $120 more than the initial package deal, but probably better in many ways. It's not advisable at all to economize on belt-driven vs. direct-driven. Nobody is saying you MUST buy Technics, but still... |

Q: What are belt driven and what are direct driven TT's?
Is it like one of them rubber and one metal or something like that?
Thanx! |

As far as I understand direct-driven (DD) TT's are better than belt-driven (BD) because they use a completely different technology for playing records.
The DD technology lets you keep the pitch very constant and stable; also the records can start to their true pitch instantly, as soon as you release them, for example. These are just some examples.
Belt-driven TT's use a belt to spin records; the belt will give you pitch problems, start problems, and it can also break. Also BD TT's are hard to learn, because you're dealing with these mechanical issues. But DD TT's use magnets for record playing. The magnet makes the TT much "smarter".
I hope this information was correct, but I may be wrong because I'm also (relatively) new to DJ'ing. |
