Go to meet this turd with a friend (preferably w/a car running), grab the phone and run. If not possible, be sure to meet in a public place, like a shopping mall, and be sure to get there a little ahead of the time, possibly to get the assistance of mall security, should this 'thief' not return your phone. How dare he demand money for it! He coulda- no, shoulda- left it at the club where he found it, with management. Accepting a reward is one thing, demanding a ransom is another.
If you can't get out of the money thing, demand his ID and take down his info first, so that you can verify that he didn't call any other long distance places with it, cuz then you'll be going after HIS ass too. Then, when u have his info, call the police and tell them you'd like to report a theft and extortion. I suggest doing this in the Peel region, as our cops are on strike. |
