Mixing in ableton

Is there any tutorials on how to do mixsets in albeton? :D

I don't know if there are tutorials or not, but i think a good way to do it, is to load all the tracks you might want to play in their own mixer channel, make sure they are all lined up (you might have to move the track delay). Then set all their start points to the first beat in the track (well you want to do this before you change the track delay) Next
put a 3 band eq on all the tracks, so you can eq them. Then put any effects you might want to add to them in the send slots.
Then start a track, when it's time to mix press play on the next track you want to play in session view, this will of course start on time right on the beat. You may want to make your quantization settings like quarter note or something larger so it starts right.
Then the best thing would be to have a midi controller, you can assign the knobs or sliders on the fly to the eq's, sends and volume faders of the tracks you are using atm. Start fading up the new track, maybe with the bass down on the eq, then fade it in while you fade the other out or however you want to mix them. Then you can twist up a send to have it delay or flange, and turn on or off the different fx in the send channels depending on what you want to use.
Then do it again for the next track. Save your file and then you can add more tracks to it later, or take tracks out you don't use, like a big virtual record crate.

Also I want to make note that this is if you have Ableton live 5, if you have 4 or earlier, you'll have to set the warp markers yourself, because it doesn't automatically do this. So in this case you basically just drag the warp markers around untill they are lined up on all the beats. Ableton 5 does this for you automatically which makes the process alot less tedious. Either way there is some preperation involved before hand but once you get it set up, it's really easy and very versatile. |

Why i dont even bother answering questions anymore those that actually care to learn will search the forums anyway. Those looking to jump right in and make choons will never really stick with it... |

If you were serious and not looking for hand me out advice you would know there are much better places on the net to look for advice mixing in ableton. But instead you choose this board because it was convient..
and i just checked the search... And it works fine, though i know it has been down for the past 2 weeks... Again you could have gone to the "ableton" forums and got your answer..... |

Even is spec didnt use the info you gave Airyck Sterrett , i wanted to post and say it was a good read for me and i thank you for posting it!
Its always good to get other peoples opinion on a way to do somthing.
