As it stands, insurance premiums are sent through the roof by 17 year old drivers. Whilst you think I may be stereotypical, I can assure you i'm not. I watched more than half my college year write off a car within a year of their test, with two people writing off 3 cars each. Mind you, 18 year olds wouldn't be any better so I'd like to know what they're trying to achieve. ;)
Basically it's to do with young drivers being the biggest danger on the roads, as boy racers. the cause for concern arose from the UK having a huge child death rate on the roads. |

Here in the States, you can drive if you're 16.
But, to buy alcohol, you gotta be 21... and to enter most clubs, too, you gotta be 21.

Nah bollocks. I got my New Zealand driving license the day after I turned 15, as most kids do ... and the road accident rate is less than the UK's anyway. |

my bibrthdate is 28/11/85 so I'm ed, I've read all this but none of it actually confirms it either way, does anybody have a date when this comes into action. Personally I think this is a piece of because every person is differet, I have friends who are 17 who I would rather be in their than friends of my parents, safety wise that is not because of image :) |
