Some guy the other day told me that rogers sent him a letter saying that he was using kazaa and downloading protected content and that it was bad and blah blah blah...sounds pretty invasive and ty to me! |
well.. tell him to get azureus and get the safe-peer plugin.. |

Do you have a linksys router?? I have the same problem, but it is not rogers that causes the problem, it is my router. It seems that once I get more than 80 connections or so it disconnects and the router resets itself. So try limiting your number of connections in your bt client. |
That's interesting. I do have a Linksys router.
Let me fiddle w/ that... |

been getting this for quite some time with dc++. my speeds start alright at around 70kbps from a good person, and then after a minute or so it drops to 70bps and all the way till 0.
my BT cant go any higher than 30kbps either :rolleyes:
ing rogers, i seroiusly should consider DSL |

| this has been happening to me as well. Except I only use MIRC XDCC Bots for downloading. I'm usually good for speed, but if I download more than one packet or for an extended period of time my entire internet connection cuts out. I'm in North York, so probably on the same hub as the link on dslreports suggests. |

Hahaha that sucks.
I still get 300kb/s on torrents and about 100kb/s in DC++. |

| Torrents seem to be working. I got that cut off thing. Gotta unplug the modem and the router and wait till the s resets on their in side so i can reconnect. I've been getting that for a while, and I noticed it is often when doing torrents. I would not say it is the pattern, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did that. |

one way to stop it is using bitcomet and enablin encryption.
azareus is currently in development, they're adding the encryption which basically fakes packets so they don't look like bt. |

I guarantee you and swear on the universe's life that it is a CLEAR, OBVIOUSLY and NOTICEABLE pattern over here at my house.
I KNOW that I am being cut-off ALWAYS when downloading torrents - sometimes when it's only one, ALL THE TIME if ever it is 2 or more at the same time.
I as of yet have not discerned a for-sure pattern in regards to ppl uploading off me. But when it comes to me downloading torrents, I cannot deny that there is a correlation to my being cut off the net until I restart my modem and router! :(
(But that's only here at my place... I can't say for anyone else.)

It the router man, it can only take so many connections than it goes down. Limit the number of connections to about 80 in your BT client. You should be fine from then on. |
