This sucks, almost all of south florida is predicted to be powerless by tommorow morning. I hope everyone is prepared and ready for this one. Good thing she's moving fast, the hour-by-hour forecast says by 5pm everything should be cleared up. Lets hope there isnt much damage. |

Thats the best part, its supposed to be over with quickly. 2am and I still havent gotten a drop of rain, the doppler radar shows that within the next hour it'll be pouring here though. Everyone, be safe. Uplug any electronics that don't need to be plugged in, my computer is getting unplugged as soon as I finish this post. |

yea, we're getting some tropical storm winds up here even... i don't have to go in to work cuz they are telling us to stay off the roads :D

Sorry to hear that. Same thing happened to my Aunt & Uncle. Luckily that was all since they are in Naples. Not too many FLTA's posting today. Most must be outta power. :( |

| Wilma was a bitch. I'm in Broward county, I was up at 5:30 Monday morning and watched the news until my power went out. Before my power went out, the sky was covered in green bursts of light from transformers exploding. When one would blow, my power would either flicker or go out for a short time and come back on. After about 15 minutes, my power went completly out and I saw several huge bursts of orange light, I still cant figure out what it could have been. After my power went out, I sat by my window which was the only window un-shuttered in my house and watched the storm blow. Once light came, I started taking pictures until about 9 or 9:30. I then went to sleep and woke up after the storm had passed. I lost two trees, a lamp post and part of the tiling on the back patio. My neighbor didnt tighten his shutters on, so they came off during the storm and were flying around about 6 feet up in the air, looked like one was about to go through my window. I just got power earlier on today, I was staying at a friends house who lives down the street from me and he had power since about 7:30 monday night. This storm was a B-I-T-C-H. I'll have pictures and a few videos of during the storm up once I download them from my digital camera, no pictures of after the storm, but a few during the eye. |
