i'm a die hard skier - i've invested way too many years to just throw it all away now... plus, when i'm on the mountain i just wanna go - don't have the patience to spend days on the bunny slope learning to board... unless i've got a super sexy teacher or something. mmmm

DO IT

Hmmm... you know, I always wonder why it is that so many people try to get you to switch from skiing to snowboarding and not vice versa. Is snowboarding really that much more fun? And what the hell is it about it that makes it more fun? I'd really like to know from some people who were formerly hardcore skiiers, made the switch and loved it.

*Raises Hand*

Though I would have to say, I switched to snowboarding circa 92-93 when snowboarding was in its golden age -IMHO- What made me switch? Well I was obviously younger and at the time air is all that mattered to me. I really didn't care about technical riding I saw these guys getting what was big air then and it just looked so much more fluid than that of when I would catch it skiing. I would have to say the one thing that kept me on one stick as opposed to 2 was less boundaries! A greater freedom of expression and the ultimate feel satisfaction. Floating powder is unparalleled no matter how good you can ski as soon as you surf powder on a board you would never go back! Now as I get older I am starting to dig more technical riding with challenging slopes and incredible speeds. Now I know a few people that can out ride me hands down but there are few on the mountain that can probably ride a mountain as well. (Locally that is) When I would look for a line on my skis I never got the feeling of unison with the mountain you get on the board!

I am so in if you guys want to make a caravan up this direction but there are much better mountains up there than Killington! If you are going to come this far you might as well stretch the extra 2 hours or so and hit Sugarloaf! Meet you at the rest stop on 95 Wells ME!

Learn the way I did! Take the chair/gondola that brings you to the highest point on the mountain and make your way down! I will guarantee you will have it in at least 2 runs and be riding by the end of the day!

Porky
lemme know if any of u nerds will drive to canada to surf, i'd be down!
