| I'm in the USA right now where it's 21 to get into clubs and hear these amazing DJs play, in Canada it's 18 or 19 depending on the province. I'm wondering what it's like in European countries. I might be planning a trip there... |

Denmark: 18-25 depending on the club. You're allowed to consume alcohol at 15. But don't go here, there's an anti-ecstacy campaign going on that has prevented every (EVERY!) club from playing anything remotely trance-like...
...except if you want to visit Christiania, buy porn or see the *little* mermaid.:D |

I reckon someones got it in for trance... This what trancaholic is saying in Denmark + the laws George w Bush is tryin to push thru... Its like the drug is the trance... Man leave us alone to party! We don't hurt anyone!!
In the UK most places are over 18's, but some clubs are over 21. Not many of them though :D not that the age limit actually matters over here, u still get 18yr olds in 21's!!

| In Holland you can go into clubs when you're 16, sometimes 18, you can drink when 16 years old, that's a lot better than 21 like the USA. |

I have a Danish friend and he was here in my country for the new years and he told me that there is no age limit to GET IN to the clubs in Denmark. He said that you can't buy any alcoholic drinks if you're under 18 or 15 (15??) but you can always get into the club.
Anyway, in Finland the age limit is usually 18-21, and some clubs seem to be very strict with the age limit by checking everyone's ID...

| Here in Belgium I think it's 16,but on party's you got many children that are younger, the most clubs, hold limit on 16,a few 21,and then you've got zillion where you have to be 16,but on zillion zundays (women have to enter without underwear and men without a shirt, they're doin' it right on the stage),you have to be 21 |

What is happening here in Denmark, is not anything like W's genious plan, but that a media-inflicted hetz is forcing club-owners to switch musical-style. We have these "a day at the police-station"-kind of TV-shows, that feast on doing reports on the widespread abuse of drugs among youngsters. The thing is that these reports is always build on footage from trance/techno-clubs and consequently the targeted club has to "respond" to the bad press and ends up playing ATC-like music.
When I moved to my current location in Denmark (2 years ago), there where two "true" techno clubs here, today both of them is no more :(
And about the age-thing: You can buy alcohol in the stores at age 15, but you have to be 18 to drink in the clubs (because then you're *served* alcohol). |

In Australia it is 18 at any club - but we also have nights where we may have a few DJs from around the country for an under-18 only party usually around the school holidays.
Most raves that are unlicensed (no alcohol license for the venue) are all ages so anyone can go. |

Iceland its 20 for clubs, but there are dances that are all ages... Still the Trance scene is very small and its really only clubs that do so Raves.....
The cool thing is that nobody goes out to the bar until 12am-1am and many clubs stay open till early morning (10am) or even noon :D
Not many places compete with the all night scene in Reykjavik :D
Cheers,
Thor..... |

| I live in Texas and most clubs are 21 and up, when big name DJs come to clubs it is usually 18 and up, but for some strange reason whenever there is a rave there is no age limit. Go figure. Then they wonder why kids are taking Exstacy at a younger age, if they wouldn't allow kids under 17 then I personally don't think that as many younger kids would be exposed to it as much. Just my opinion |
