okay heres the question of the week? i listen to trance and Progressive house? but what makes prog house "house" when it sounds more like trance to me. therefore what is prog trance, and why cant all this techno genre be simpler?

Please take note:

Pidgeon-holing tracks into increasingly specific genres is bound to leave us with tracks that fit adequately into more than one genre. The difference between progressive house and progressive trance - if, indeed, there is any - amounts to whether the track has a greater house element (dominant, uplifting beat, little or no dinstinguishable synth melody: see Steve Lawler, Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia, etc.) or trance element (more abstract nature, more flowing and melodic: see Max Graham, some Sander Kleineberg - My Lexicon, V&M etc, not his housier stuff).

To put it bluntly I'm tired of people being so anal about how they classify music. Just listen to it and enjoy it. The best music defies genre limitations in the first place.

Gotta agree with Renegade.. music classification is a trivial part of the experience. who cares whether it is proig house or prog trance, whats important is whether you like it or not!

dont bother squabbling over genres and like that because its not worth it. And anyways...

check this out: i just call it progressive!

i listen to a lot of Dave Seaman stuff, some is more housey and some is more trancey but whether it's progressive house/trance i dunno!!!!

most of the time it helps relax me and put me into a trance state of mind:p....which isnt very good when i'm driving.....

Dave Seaman is one of my FAV DJs because his sets are just money. They do put you into a "trance state of mind."

Please, don't call all electronic music techno. House, Techno, and Trance are all different branches of electronica. So u better don't use the word 'techno' if u have no idea what it means. Thank you:rolleyes:
