I like the G35 coupe. If I had the money, that would be first on my list. |

Well considering that's the general consensus around the automotive journalist world, take it as you will. It certainly looks worlds better, at least. |

Case re-opened:
- slower, less hp and torque, overall worse performer
- front end & interior SCREAM "self-important old man!" |

The G35 Coupe, when mated with the 6-spd manual, has 298bhp (yeah yeah yeah whatever), and 270lb-ft torque. The 350Z has "300"bhp and 260lb-ft torque. Specs taken from Infiniti and Nissan's sites, respectively.
Hahaha, the 350Z is the most often used mid-life crisis car out there other than the Corvette, dude. I've never seen anybody younger than 40 driving one. |

The "general consensus" says about the same thing about Civics and Corollas. Look at the sales figures!
As for the looks... i hope you're not serious. The Z looks sporty and sexy, the G looks bloated and self-important. Plus the G's are so common that there is one on every corner. Z's are 10 times rarer. Plus, as far as red Z's are concerned, you're guaranteed to see 1000+ other Z's / G's before you see even ONE! |

oh I *love* the G35...best car under 50k, IMHO.
although I'd also strongly consider the Legacy GT too (de-tuned STi engine = massive aftermarket options for one hell of a sleeper!)
I don't think Nissan is too worried about overlap between potential 350Z and G35 owners though :D |

/\ how many ppl do you know under 40 that can honestly afford that car.
Nice car. |

The reason for this is that the G35 looks far superior and for basically the same price you get a muuuch nicer interior in the same basic car. |

Here's a solution: go buy a G. I'm happy with a Z and wouldn't take a G over it if they offered it to me for 25% off the sticker price. |
