Glad to share with you my first real track on this board in quite a while. This started out as a collab between me and Roman Cherno but somehow he disappeared so I decided to finish it the rest of it after waiting for several months which is why this track wasn't finished for over 8 months! Really enjoyed making this track... Real dark sounding yet beautiful (in a dark sense)... Hope you enjoy it as well :)

Be sure to check out Roman's version as well :)

very groovey from the start :D

everything is sounding great in this track. A bit too dark for my tastes of course but really great job on sounds and mixing :) pro stuff i'd say.

Hi JL

Great track, the mastering is excellent. Very dark melodies and breakdown. The bass is awesome too. I really love the percussion work. Keep it up!

nice deep track you got there.

there seams to be one layer of drums that make the track seem a bit cluttered. maybe much reverb...

overall a good production

192kbps...? Hmm... the percussian sounds very Lo-Fi to me.. Make sure to only use top quality sounds. And some expensive (good) pair of headphones will help you determine what is sounding good, and not ;)

That being said - it has been a while since I've listened to such a dark track. Very scary melodies all the way here. Not what I'm used to at all!! Hehe.... Hmm.. But the track gets kinda boring after listening a while to it. I expected some kind of acid melody-lines to totally freak the atmosphere..

Even so, solid tune. Sounds Lo-Fi to me though...:nervous:

@staticblue: thanks for listening... sorry for being too "dark" hehe

@Terry Barker: glad you liked the track mate :)... did you get my pm?

@richg101: I'll take a look at the drums again... thanks

@alexpea: hmm... well, what i was trying to do was to isolate different percussions in different frequency ranges to give the track a broader sense of frequency ranges... I will take a look at that percussion again though... maybe ease up on the filtering as the percs were heavily filtered... sorry if you didn't like it after a while but thanks for listening :)!

Hey JL,

The percs in your track are really cool and different sounding - it's always nice to hear when someone is brave enough to move away from standard perc sounds.

I love the dark vibe you've created - lots of texture all around.

The bass is a bit quiet I think...

And there's some hi-pitched synth that you can hear clearly in the background at around 2:45 that seems to be playing one or two notes that are off-key with the rest of the tune.

Otherwise, it's great - tasty sounds everywhere!

Looking forward to your next track,
Trev

@sooper: glad you liked the percs :)... Actually, that synth that you mentioned is actually is supposed to be like that... It does break the standard natural minor key rules but it's on purpose to give it a dark melodic sound instead of a sad type sound (minor key)... Good thing about knowing musical theory and all the rules inside out is you know which rules to break and when to break them. Glad you enjoyed it :)

By the way, how's are your tracks coming along??? No longer known as "head rush" anymore?? hehe

Hey JL

It takes a while for this track to really get going. Lovely atmosphere in the first few minutes but not a real hook. I pesonally think it is quite original what you have done with the percussions. The groove because of the bass and the pers is excellent. I just struggle a bit with the long build up but man from 4.30 minutes up this track becomes a fantastic progressive track. I love it totally, the groove is funky, the atmosphere is dark but laidback.
That bass kicks donkey ass ;)

No further track remarks from the 4,30 section on, just brilliant stuff. Just the mastering needs a bit of attention, I would Eq it a bit better and give the track a bit more clarity, more treble. Then this track will have and the throbbing bass and the lovely clear sound.

Thanks for sharing! Completely enjoyed this original piece!

Nice work, very beautiful and deep track. I love the drive and atmosphere it has. I kinda like the low fi feel to the purcussion as it has a very textured quality to it. Melodies and synths are very well done.

btw, small update from before... same link

@BTF Productions: Hey john, how have things been??? Got anything else to say about my track? hehe

@ Nomen Nescio: glad you liked it mate.... i'm working on the mixing and trying to get everything to complement each other more... thanks for being detailed as in saying what you liked and what you didn't :)

@ Axolotyl: Thanks for taking the time to listen... Appreciate it a lot :)
