Hard to believe, but last night http://beatport.com sold their millionth track. The buyer of that track won a bunch of equipment.
I've been watching their track counter for the last week and it looks like they are selling about 5,000 tracks per day. That's an amazingly large number IMO, considering that most of their tracks are basically unknown to anyone besides DJs and electronic music enthusiasts. Electronic music may be in a slump, but someone is definitely still buying it. |

| I don't know about those guys. Not a single time they had a track that I was looking for. |

Yeah they have a lot of progressive house, but to tell the truth a lot of it sounds so similar and is not really what goes over in my area, I find it hard to find stuff I really want to get.
I found some goodies by looking thru the "chart" selection lists, they have lots of those, plus the "classics" lists and a few labels I know.
I'd like it if they had some stuff that was a little more commercial, but those people prefer to sell on CD or vinyl I guess. |
