I'm running the MYC Marathon November 6th! If any you go, Look for me!
I'll be wearing the same outfit in the photo. (I'm in the middle)With hot pink tape on my legs because of the stress fractures.
So if any of you plan on going, I'd love your support!
My race number is 8849.

I wish you all the luck in the world for your little jog across NYC.

On a sidenote I always think marathoners are crazy. Running with stress fractures in your Tibias is enough pain for me to cringe. It is amazing how the pain tolerance for marathoners is so insanely high.

Just out of curiosity is the pink tape Kinesio tape (I am an Athletic Trainer/ Physical Therapist).

You knew it was tibias.. is that the common place for stress fractures? I've never been injured before this..
The hot pink tape is just the water proof tape to go over other tape.. I wanted to some what match my outfit..

and.. I guess I am crazy, I put way to much time and effort into this and I am not letting some fractures stop me!

tape to match your outfit...classic!

also...now i'm not marathon runner or anything but a few of my girl friends are and i had previously asked them about running with music and through pain, or through bad weather like cold or light rain and they said this to me...

basically running is theraputic to them, it gets them in a focal pattern where alot of external is blocked out. so music, pain, weather aren't a factor when they're locked into running. I'm guessing in almost all sports when you focus on your task, there is little room for deterrents. Now I'm not talking about extremes here, like someone's foot is broken and it's hanging by skin yet their still running along or like running through hail. I just find that the mental ability of runners are fairly strong. Thus concluding as to being theraputic that their focus is so strong they don't need to really concentrate, it becomes natural to them.

Running has become an addiction.. It relieves everything.. stress.. It makes me happy.. and you get runners high hehe..
I had to take some time off from running to heal my legs and it was killing me.. But yea, weather, pain, it doesn't matter.. once you run so many miles you get in a zone and keep going..
Every run for me miles 3-5 always suck.. those are the miles for me that I start thinking "this sucks".. but after 5 you just keep going..

ok...I was being sarcastic...at least I thought it was funny...

anyway, yes, running is excellent...and runner's high...it's scientifically proven that runner's high is the same high people get when smoking weed...the same type of endorphins are released or something like that...so good luck jennifer!!
