Where do producers get their vocals from

Do they just sit down and come up with some, how does the whole process begin, do they make the vocals around the synth or vice versa.
Producers who bring out a single with vocals who havent really attempted it before just make me wonder where they got the idea, is it out of passion , do they write the words or what ?
I love some of the stuff producers come out with vocal wise but i couldnt imagine some producers thinking it up from their previous non-vocal background. |
