Anybody employed in Mortage/Loan companys doing loans in LA? (Part-Time Student Job)

Looking for a part-time job as a Student in Los Angeles.
Currently have my real estate license and was wondering if any of you are currently with 'Country Wide' or any other company's... few questions:
1. Is there much money in it as of current market conditions?
2. For a beginner, is it going to take much time to get any deals?
3. How does the system work as far as getting loans for clients, do the companys usually provide clientel?
(any other ideas as far as part time student jobs would be much appreciated)

i work for a huge mortgage firm and can say that this job is the most emotional (emo) job i've ever had.
it's an emotional rollercoaster, every day at work. i'm 100% commission so my entire lively hood is based on how good i really am at converting deals.
typically companies provide lead reports via title or existing/prior clients. you will be cold calling more than likely. i would recommend processing through college and then maybe jumping into being an L.O.
on the flip side if you are a very witty person and extremely good on the phone maybe you can take a stab the job.
it was 3 monthes before i got my first deal, but the commissions are awesome. My processor gets 800$ for every file we do, and she works w/ about 3 other L.O's. So, say i do 3 deals a month and so does the other L.O's thats upwards of 5k a month. you have to be the most organized bitch ever |
