| cant you just render your kick and bass as a single loop, reimport it into a new project and compress the lot that way? |

| altitude |
create a new 16 channel mixer
run kick and bass to channel 1 and 2
send output of mixer to compressor
send output of compressor to your main mixer |

or you can just merge them in a spider audio merger
/me hopes it already was in 2.5 can't remember :) |

| ok, but now how can I make the bass "jumping" like Gabriel & Dresden - Arcadia's bass? |

| By useing the yellow compressor. Put the kick in the sidechain input and put the bass synth in the normal input... twiddle with the bnobs and there you go... please use the search next time because this post comes around like 3 times a week. |

Storyteller, that's for Reason 3, not 2.5 :P
In 2.5 there's no sidechaining option for the compressor, which is what you need.
Best way to emulate it is to send the bassline into the left channel of the compressor, and a copy of the bassdrum into the right channel. Then wire the LEFT CHANNEL ONLY to the mixer. Provided the kick is louder than the bassline, it will silently override the compressor.
If your bassline's in stereo, you'll need to repeat the technique for the right channel.
Confused? I suppose I could send you a .rns if you're really stuck. (I'm a lazy ass, so only ask me as a last resort ok?) |
