First few I went to were at the BigBop and had loads of fun, DarkRave was my first time ever doing E, fun memories :P
Only went to one at the Fun Haus (my last one, was back in like May or June?), and didnt have so much fun. But, the place was rammed, and the reviews by other people were nothing but positive, so I just chalked it upto personal taste in music. |

Last dark rave I went to I had a horrible time at - But, the place was rammed and going off like no tomorrow, so I'll chalk that upto personal taste in music. I used to love that type of music, but my tastes have changed quite a bit in the past year (now more minimal techno and house)
However, before that one, I had been to 3 or 4 dark raves before, and had a blast at every one.
It'll be a bit on the 'dirty seedy side' - but IMO, that is part of the appeal and not nessicarly a bad thing.
However, IMO - funhaus tends to play music TOO loud where it's simply just painfull, even when standing at the back of the club as far away from the speaker stacks as you can, I'd recomend taking some earplugs with you (Then again, I take earplugs with me to almost any venue these days). But, there has been once or twice I've left the Fun House because it was too loud and hurting my ears - even if I was enjoying the music.
Toronto has an active scene beyond tranceaddict ya know? :P |
well said! Darkraves at Big Bop were fun...Fun Haus (I forget the old name when I used to go often enough) is a dump, but a good space for a party. Darkraves definitely do come down to musical taste...and it definitely NOT a Guv, Boa or System crowd (to name a few)...which can be both a good and bad thing, lol :D |

yeah.. i used to love the darkraves.. the bip bop was the ! such a cool place with trippy rooms..each one with different designs.. i dont know..it just doenst feel the same in the funhouse..

I haven't been to a darkrave at the funhouse but the ones I did go to at the big bop were awesome. I don't ever remember having a bad time. And asian girls dressed as goths. :crazy: :eyespop: :eyes: |
