Hi Production Studio.

Iv have used the search but found no results so i guess ill post one... I have just purchase the emu 0404, its cool but i need a little advise of getting it to go. I only master using well now the sennheiser HD 25 SP's and use no monitors because i live in a flat basically. Do i need another external module to use the headphones becuase now life is complicated i cant just plug them into the back of the card itself lol.

Thankyou in advance :)

I looked through a couple of sites, but couldn't find the kind of adapter you'd need. Basically what you need is:

2x 6,3mm male plugs -> 1x 3,5mm female

Depending on the impedance of your headphones, you might need to get a receiver or amp.

My 1010 goes out through S/PDIF to a digital receiver and I plug my headphones into that. I believe the 0404 does have analog ports though - you just might need to amplify the signal.

digi do you have a delta 1010? thats what ive got anyway. if you do have it, what do you think of it? i was thinking of junking it for an ESI 1010.

to the OP, your 0404 will have either stereo RCA outputs or TRS outputs.

your headphone is most likely a mini TRS (like most headphones these days).

TRS is the big chunky version of your bog standard headhone jack. so if the 0404 is TRS you just need a mini TRS to twin TRS adaptor to stick it straight into the analogue outs on your 0404. if its RCA (the connection with the male pin in the middle) then you need a mini TRS to twin RCA adaptor.

some headphones can take being stuck straight into the analogue ins. others need a headphone amp so you might want to try it out first anyway since the adaptor isnt really that expensive.

Emu 1010. :) It's the main PCI card that ships with Emulator X. I don't use the DSP features extensively, but I've used Emulator X a ton in every production I've done since I bought it.

just went through the search for the emu 0404... and read through all the threads. i've read some good comments and some bad comments about it.... so i was just asking again...

is there anyone who is using this emu card or the emu 1810 right now with the most recent drivers? how does it run... still a lot of bugs or fixed up?

i guess the things that interest me the most right now is the low price and the built in effects. otherwise if anyone else has any other suggestions for this 100-160 dollar price range please feel free to let me know.
