Hi
I am new here... I have a question what is the difference between trance and techno? I am not sure but is this correct? :
Trance is emotional and contains alot of bass and treble.
Techno is like trance but it has not so much bass but more treble.
Am I right???
This is trance:
Alphazone - Stay
DJ Digress - Baila Para Me
D-Tune - Push It
East Clubbers - Bungee
Ziggy X - This Rox
Sonique - Zanarkand
PPK - Resurection
This is techno:
Crazy Frog - Popcorn
Tune Up - Ravers Fantasy
Right? Or is everything trance?? |

Crazy frog is not techno. tune up - ravers fantasy is not techno.
They are garbage.
You want some good techno, try:

Treble and Bass???? Where'd u get that from.. Okay lemme help u out..
Trance is much more melodic than techno. Trance is generally more structured and techno is more freeform. Techno is usually based around more grittier sounds than trance which is based around more lighter sounds. |

you totally mixed it up.
techno is very different from trance. its much more based on the drums, loops and percussions.
for example. listen to this SAMPLE
trance is as you said rich of strings, harmonies and breakdowns.

| Try to think of techno and trance as two sides of the same spectrum. They sound similar, have similar structures, similar speeds, similar instruments and similar effects, but trance focuses more on emotion and melody, while techno is colder, more neutral, generally more abstract, and focuses more on energy and flow instead. There's a blurry line in the middle, and stuff that borrows elements from both could be called tech-trance. Both genres also have a few sets of keys generally associated with them. |
