Dumb question... Why isn't there a new episode every week? It should be illegal to stretch out a season by making you wait longer for the next episode. :whip:

they did the same thing with '24' a couple of years ago, when fox kept airing 'american idol' like 5 times a week .. :whip: .. i was like "wtf!!! i want '24' not some damn lame asses who want to get rich easy by schmoozing some old hag from the 80s, a black guy with a white attitude, and an english guy who has his jollies tightened every week!!" ..
then, last year, they aired "24" every week, and i was happy with that ..
i think 'lost' is doing the same thing '24' did a couple of years ago .. they are airing one episode, then looking at the viewer demographics to see what they like and don't like (i don't know who they are) .. the producers have about three scerarios to air for the next episode .. so the scenario they pick is based on ratings .. they just dump the other 2 scenarios in the trash .. i don't know how they keep a script for that, but i heard that's how some shows do it to be prepared for bad ratings ..
another thing that might be going on is that the producers are doing 'teasers' for us, pushing us to want it more by airing old episodes in between new episodes ..

After thinking about it, I could only guess that they do it to target a specific competitive program or by stretching it out, they are getting more ad dollars for some reason.
I dunno though, just guessing. |
