Good question. My guess would be no as it is nearly impossible to prove that any genetic marker causes any specific attribute, however, being as the abnormality is only found in homosexuals I think it is safe to extrapulate that either it causes homosexuality or homosexuality causes it.... since sex does not alter ones DNA one must conclude that the former is true and not the later. |

and ancient peoples found it safe to extrapolate that the sun revolved around the earth, because that's what it appeared to do. you're probably committing several causal fallacies. also, the only study i found was some canadian guys who tested like...50 guys in 1993. that doesn't seem like it would be an accurate sample base. i mean really. even if you found 100 guys, half homosexual and half not, and the 50 homosexual guys had the abnormality while the hetero's didn't, that neither means the abnormality causes homosexuality nor that it is only found in homosexuals. there are about 5 billion heterosexuals you haven't tested yet. and what about bisexuals? what about the homoosexuals who don't have this abnormality? what about confused persons who don't know their orientation yet? eh? it's not safe to extrapolate anything of the sort. |

I disagree, most ancient peoples believed the sun revolved around the earth because that was their observation.... observation is different from extrapolation as the latter is based on a porponderance of evidence and exhausting of alternative explenations.
I cannot recall details of the study to which I refer regarding the testing details and protocals thus I will not make any comments as to it's validity. I just thought it was interesting information to share. If you wish to challenge it please do so. |
