I need some help! Here's my situation:

I been using Reason for a long time now and despite what some might say, I believe reason is a very power music producing tool. But, my biggest criticism is that I can't see any type of wave display unless I Render to track and view it in some type of wave displaying program, like Peak or Ableton. I think just about everyone would agree that it would be a huge advantage to be able to see a wave display in real-time when try to do certain things like EQing and Compression and I'm flat out sick of not being able to see what I'm doing.

Well, here's where you can help me.

I also use Ableton Live 5.0 and know that it is extremely easy for me to rewire the two programs together, Reason being the slave and Ableton the master. I can send all my audio out of Reason and through Ableton and use Ableton's VST support to help solve this problem. I'm looking for something I can use in Ableton Live that will display the characteristics of the wave file(both the frequencies for EQing and the overall dB display for Compression). I need to be able to view how the wave shapes are changing as I'm adjusting parameters in Reason. In other words the moment I adjust the threshold level on the compressor in Reason, I want to be able to view the wave form decreasing in size. Is there some form of device out there that will help me with this.

In Short, I'm looking for a VST that:
- Displays wave qualities(both dB level per freq. & total)
- Shows the changes while you're adjusting the parameters.
- And is compatible with ABleton Live 5.0 (most things are)
retrobyte
try this one out - I haven't actually used it, but it looks promising.

I haven't used Live myself, but there's a vst plugin called Inspector that might possibly do what you're looking for. It's an effect plugin and all it does is displaying the waves as they are played. I think it's free (look for it a kvr-vst.com og jsut google it)
