Heya,
commenting as I listen...
cool strings and war drums in the intro, set a great eerie mood... really good way to introduce the kick... cool fill fx.
The synth you got now going seems to be too muffled, and it clashes with the bass. If that should be your bassline it needs to get punchier. I'd seperate that synth a bit more from the (sub)bass... also watch out for the levels, because there seems to be a bass note that muffles things up.
The kick itself is muffled too... try to give it some more upper frequencies, a little "click" (>5kHz) will always help you make your kick clearer.
The orchestra strings and stuff then again are really nice and eerie.
You should definately provide some more upper-mid frequencies, you can see there is a gap in the frequencies. Try to fill this space with some of the synths, and seperate them better.
That tune gets a really nice layering of sounds @5:00 and onwards.
Again, I can only point out that many of the midrange-layers are too muffled.
Overall, you got some good sounds going, you should spend some more time on mastering the tune. When turning up the cutoff of your midrange-synths you could try to let the war drums you got in the intro contribute to the overall groove of percussions. This tune definately has potential, the orchestra elements are great. So keep it up :) |
