you could record static off a mistuned analogue radio, then put it thru a gate triggered by midi or another hi hat sample.

| Vanguard does a good job of making hi hat sounds. Albino can do the same but really haven't tried any other VST's for hi hat sounds. I mainly just use samples from the VEC sounds. I love all of those so I use various samples from that kit and layer them together to get a more full sound. |

| Try using gated reverb on them. |

A lot of VST synths will let you switch from waveforms to whitenoise nowadays. For what you're asking, I'd use Superwave Trance-Pro.
I'd switch to whitenoise and set the envelope (no attack, full hold, no sustain/release etc). Then just make the hihats as if they were notes. Play with the filter cutoff/res for the desired sharp or softened effect.
Hope this has helped, all the best! =) |

u don't need a VST ! don't waste ur cpu ..
a "GOOD" sample (like samples on Veng CD) + the right fx will get u what u need .. |

| Nope, you don't NEEEEED one but you'll have more control over your sound. Control is the key. |

| most synths will do it. its called a noise oscillator. then go to town on the envelope. |

Would Albino 2 be about right for this? And if so is albino heavy on CPU as I am an FL user.
