TTA: Why do you hate the UK Royal Family so much when it's not your taxes that pay to keep them ? Why do you hate them so much when anything they do does not directly affect your country ?
Dj O'Callaghan: I don't agree that the UK is the most bastardised country in the world, every country in the world has a mixture of race's and culture's. North America, Canada and the UK prolly having the greatest mix true. but having that mix serves only to enrich and broaden our lives, there are many many influences in our lives that have been brought by other cultures which do benefit us all.
My own veiws on this subject are that i don't paticuly like having a monarchy, on the whole over the last 2 decades i think they have shamed the UK more than promoted it with the exception of ONE and that was Princess Diana. (Her work for charities and helping the world far outweighed her personal indisgresions).
I belive that system will change, and that the Royal's will continue to have less influence on the UK.
But having the need to bash them at every opportunity ? I think we could do much better things with our time.

| neo the regular bash the royals thread is essential! lol! there is infact no point to them! they dont even no anything!! there got there power coz years and years ago there great great whoevers went around with bigger swords shouting and fighting and won land and handed it down and down and down and now theve got it, and been sitting nice and comfortably ever since coz no1 has had the brains to think "wtf is going on here...there taking the piss"! coz they are, lets be honest none of them "actually" do anything of any subtance, apart from the odd speech and walk around a flowershow, and everyone loves them! i wouldnt bow to my queen at all, i wouldnt give a how much carnage it caused, i wouldnt, they live off us, they do nothing, the damn queen has 40 YES 40 achers (i cant spell, damn education system, dont see the queen putting money into that do you) she has 40 thingys in the middle of london for her flower garden, and in london if an allotment came up for sale it would sell for atleast £100,000! the whole affair is sickening! |

neo: You're right they dont affect me...but I hate parasits in general...its not that I shot darts at a royalhead or something, but theres so much unfairness in the world and they have so much money just for doing nothing. I mean all europeans cried out loud when the FPÖ gained power in Austria, EU or not they why they didnt give a about that?
I say, first you have to look that the poorest people in your country have an acceptable live, then you cant give away money to your royal family:whip: |

| See in canada......we recognize them as monarchs but they have no power. The queen is on the back of our coins and stuff. Even tho i'm not a british taxpayer.......in canada we recognize them too much. |

I think Neo that TTA hates them BECAUSE anything they do does not directly affect his country neo ... even though they're the goddam rulers of Canada as well! You are aware I presume of a thing called the 'commonwealth'? The British Royal Family are in fact the rulers of about 60 or 70 other nations around the world.
I think the Canadians and commonwealth nations in general have got even more right to slag off at the royal family than the Brits do... at least the royals are actually British, and create thousands of jobs around the UK (most of them annoying bloody cockneys on cheap ey souvenir stalls on Oxford St :rolleyes: ) What has the Queen ever done for Canada, why the hell should she be allowed to rule a country she's only even been to for a couple of weeks in her entire life?
They aren't just figureheads either, Tony Blair has a meeting with the Queen once a week on a Wednesday morning and 'exchanges views' (ie gets told what to do!). And yes they do meddle in the politics of their subject nations - it was only about 20 years ago when the governor-general of Australia (the queen's representative in her subject states, for all you Yanks) went and sacked the then-Prime-Minister, Gough Whitlam, and the entire cabinet, because he didn't like some piece of legislation they wanted to put through. Who gave him the right to do that? The ing Queen! Some upper class toff in a palace on the other side of the world! Whats up with that?
To this day, the highest court of law in any commonwealth country is still the Privy Council in the UK - some bunch of brown nosing lords who are appointed by *you guessed it* the queen!
As for Prince Philip - a genuinely nasty piece of work that epitomizes everything that's wrong with the British upper class. Imagine if he was a newspaper editor or judge or something and tried to make some of the ridiculous, racist head-up-arse remarks that he's got away with over the years :whip:
Bah - it just pisses me off that 3,000 years after the Greeks invented democracy, people are still in dumb enough to let themselves be ruled by a single family of wankers who think they're 'born to rule'. We'll see what happens when that philandering, ignorant big ears idiot Prince Charles finally gets his shot at the crown - he's just like his old man, it's only a matter of time before he says or does something that pisses even the British Public off so much, that they finally get rid of him. |

Di and Dodi Al Fayeds child wouldn't of been a prince Charles is Queens son who married Di who's orginally from a noble family, it would of been a noble child though the Spencers DI's family were a noble family so it could quite easily have the title of a Lord.
Neo as for my comment on calling Britain the most bastardised country in the world that wasn't meant as a rude comment at all, and your right it broadens peoples knowledge to have other cultures in the UK, the point I was trying to make was Englands been invaded so many times by many different races the Royals are German orginally so their from Anglo Saxon decent actually more close then that because Queen Victoria was from the House of Hamburg, but my point was she should be the queen or representative of people from Anglo Saxon descent not Celts like me, its like I find it unfair she reprsents this country to other nations, when she dosen't in the slightest represent me or my views, all she thinks people like me should be doing is on working building sites, digging up roads, happily spending my wages in some pub, and having general disrespect for British authority, I'm sure there people from many different cultures and desendants from other cultures in the UK that feel the same as me.
I think monarchies are just glorfied versions of dictatorships, and the sooner we lose them the better, I argue this a lot with people I'm very extreme with my views, but thankfully I'm not brainwashed by the bull false conciousness that this country is full of hopes and dreams, god bless the ing queen and all that , you can make it in this country with hard work thats fair enough, but its the upper crust of society who corrupt it all! did Prince William actually pass his A-Levels to go ST Andrews? do all these Lords children who attend Oxford and Cambridge university pass their exams? we'll never know because their families are powerful and their rich no one would dare question them because of that, I wonder if they all failed what? £30,000 a year lecturer is going say 'sorry Lord so and so your son can't attend this university his grades weren't at the right standard' they never will say that, even if someone overules decisions like that, the upper class have the education ministers the deans of universities in their pockets and if that lecturer ever questions them grades he'll probably won't work in education again, it works on intimidation thats exactly how it works. |

O'Callaghan: AS for Oxford and Cambridge...i do think that u have to bring with u some skills and good grades, despite all the money they cant take any idiot just cause of his family's name. Bill Clinton, for example studied there(oxford) and back then he was some poor mofo, extremely poor family but with his skills he recieved scholarship and was entitled to attend oford as well.
I'm also against monarchies, but I think u should chill out a bit..The last things i asociate the UK with is the Royal Family. They merely represent and do not ACT nor really RULE, and hardly no1 takes their representation 100% seriously..

| TranceGiant the point about the grades dude I don't mean that they totally fail them because of course like they don't let anyone join universities, but they bend the rules, for an example what I mean is say you need 3 A grades to do a degree course, I know for certain if a son or daughter of a monarch or a noble family got 3 Es for their A-levels they'd still be able to do that course regardless because they have a powerful family name and money as simple as that, say if any normal person with not loads of money and a normal name tried to get on that course they'd get told to go away. |

Hey O'callaghan, you are so right about the upper-class bull grades thing.
I have a mate / business colleague who's a lecturer at St Andrews university, and his wife works in the enrolment department ... she says that when prince William announced he was going there to study, they had 4,500 extra applications from women than they've ever had in previous years, and suspiciously enough 3,000 applications from young, single upper class women who suddenly felt inspired to go and study art history!! She says it was piss funny, she was fielding dozens of applications and phone calls every day from these girls, most of whom were thick as e, with double barreled surnames like 'Lady Melissa Cholmondeley-Smith-Toff-Jones' :rolleyes: The worst part is that half of them only had like one failed 'o' level in Home Economics, and suddenly wanted to study at St Andrews ... and of course when they were politely declined their old man was on the phone ranting and raving and demanding the reason why, since he was the lord of whatever manor or the CEO of some huge corporation.
The course he's on (art history) only has 20 places available, and I know for a fact that every single person on that course was vetted by MI5 and the royal household, and were made to sign a confidentiality agreement, before they were allowed on the course. I somehow don't think that a little thing like one's grades can hold you back too much when you're royalty :eyes:
Funnily enough, before we exclusively slag off at the British upper class, over 1500 of those applications were from American women ... guess everyone wants to be a princess huh :D:D:D |
