VST - reverse function

Is there any Effects VST that allows you to reverse the sounds in a particular channel? Like in FL - if you have it in FX channel 1 - it reverses all the sounds linked to channel 1. Or is the only way to render to wav then use something like audacity?

Thanks

a few OHM's have the ability to. although you can't get too specific w/ the quantization of it

i'd think it's only possible if you were working with audio tracks. i don't think there is a vst capable of reversing midi signals because it would have to read ahead.

your midi channel for your VST is connected to an audio channel, is it not?

in sonar thats how it works

What you're suggesting is physically impossible. Think for a minute about how such a thing would be implemented and I'm sure you'll realize why.

You'll have to render to audio and do the reversing yourself, either by hand or with a beatslicer-type plugin.

Voxengo Pristine Space was designed for this; however, I prefer to reverse things myself in sound forge.

The Floops Granualizer does reverse, but I never really learned how to do it accurately, because it's actually a whole lot easier to just reverse stuff in sound forge.

Well, if it is an audio file, you can reverse it real easily by clicking on the channel and going to precomputed effects and clicking the "reverse" thing.

Otherwise, as everyone else said, the only other way to reverse anything else is by rendering the sound into audio and reversing it.

Thanks a lot guys, i'm just gonna use audacity now :)

Ohmboyz VST by Ohmforce does this. While it's hard to get exactly what you want out of it, and it's not exactly realtime, it is a very sexy effect.
