hahahah ..

i could never get enough of this movie ..

this movie rocks, no matter how cheesy the plot was, or the background music that was playing during the movie ..

poor white boy moving from jersey to the sunny cali, and gets the beat out of him, and some old plump japanese guy comes along, and helps him beat all 5 guys .. classic ...

just want to talk about this movie ... saw this twice over the weekend .. :wtf: ..

and to ensure this will not turn into a sausage fest ... here is a pic of elizabeth shue ..

decent looking babe, but was the best looking one in the movie ..

i think the American Ninja movies, 5 in all, more accureatly depicted the cultural and ethnical backgrounds and corrolations between modern day martial arts and the ancient histories of thus.

maybe ..

but i do know this movie 'the karate kid' does not come close to the martial arts .. i look at this movie more like a comedy towards ralph macchio's character, and possibly his acting career :wtf: ..

i demand today's movies follow this format .. cheesy plot .. cheesy background music .. new boy arrives in town .. new boy gets the beat out of him .. new boy confides with stranger, and learns to fight .. new boy beats up the whole gang .. new boy falls in love with a girl ..

fav lines :

guard : Hold it! Sorry, teachers and students only.
daniel : He doesn't speak English ... and I can't understand his instructions without her. She's his translator.

miyagi : *speaks japanese*
guard : What did he say?
ali : You remind him of his uncle in Tokyo.
guard : I guess it's okay

miyagi : *speaks japanese*
guard : What?
ali : He says you're very kind.

guard : Thank you.
miyagi : Welcome.

I had the 'Karate Kid Part II' video game for NES.

Why was it that Daniel San always came thru in the clutch with some super-wack move?

Part 1: Crane kick.

Part 2: Side to side baby-toy swinging punch.

WTF?!?

I saw a kid in highschool try the crane kick once and he ended up getting the beatdown of a lifetime.
