Full control vst effects

I have been looking for a "slicer"/"trance gate" effect that can be programmed for an unlimited number of steps but I have been unsuccessful. For example, CamelSpace has one but it is limited to 16 steps. I am looking for one with no limit.
Also, I am looking for a flanger, phaser, and others that will not just cycle through the sound. I want to be able to jump to different filtered frequencies in the effect process at will without cycling through the others. I also want the effect to begin at the depth I want. For example, some effects on something like FL studio, have a phaser and flanger which begin to cycle through at a certain "rate." But this method doesn't bring very much control...
What vst's do you use which give you the most control? |

There is no easy way out that sounds good. You can either spend a lot of time learning how to do this with Fruity granualizer, or you can spend a lot of time learning how to do this with an audio sequencer.

Fruity Flanger: turn the rate knob to zero. Tweak the delay knob.
Fruity Phaser: turn the sweep freq. knob all the way down. Tweak the min and max depth knobs.
Easy. |

thanks thoughtlessjex, I really appreciate your help.
darn. I was hoping that since CamelSpace existed, that maybe one with more steps just might exist as well.
I have done what you suggested about the fuity flanger, but I get a lot of pops and glitches when it is automated this way even with the buffer at the max with only one synth on the channel... Even when I export it, it has this problem...
I never had this problem with the phaser though...
I'm wondering if there is a flanger and phaser effect with a more graphical interface instead of using nobs... |
