You think a FX5200 is crap? I run a dual-head MX440 - it doesn't run new games but everything else is perfect. |

i'm not 100% but i'm pretty sure you need two video cards (ie. a apg and a pci) or option two being get a video card with two monitor outputs...i'd love to have a second monitor right now myself, working on one screen with cubase is horendus...i could find uses to have 8 screens with that program |

Two video cards would be a pain to get up and running, it's just an invitation to problems... ;)
Doesn't your 5200 have a digital monitor output as well as analog??? At least mine has, and I have a little converter piece so that I can connect a regular VGA screen to it.
Don't get two video cards, it's really not a good idea. You can find dual output cards for 40$ these days (I think you can find a brand new FX6200 with dual outputs for 60-80 bucks) ... just be sure to get an AGP card, since PCI express probably won't fit your computer (unless you have a PCI-e mainboard of course :p )
Geforce 6200 AGP with dual monitor outputs: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16814121542
61.50 US dollars, you must be able to afford that ?? :D |

Yes, It's exactly as Low Profile and Bruuen say. You need either two or more cards, or a card with multiple outputs. Although I wouldnt say that installing a PCI video card in addition to your 5200 AGP card such a bad idea. Though PCI cards arent nearly as cheap as they should be. I recommend getting a new card with multiple outputs. One, you'll get a new card thats better than your outdated 5200, and two, you won't plug up one of your expansion slots with a PCI card.
Some people have a PCI card laying around though. I have the capacity to run 4 monitors with all the crap i have around. |

I got 6200, good card and cheap...I tried splitting, looks cool but I don't have 2 flats and 2 big ones would be a pain...
You can always buy a splitter for 2 or more screan (can go over 8 screens with it, depends which one you buy). |

If your cared has 2 VGA or a VGA and a DVI output it should be no problem.
I got myself a Matrox here from work (no one needed it) and can now hook up 4 monitors...i tried with 3 but drew the conclusion that it eats up way too much CPU having 3 |
