Saw II (pg. 2)

Saw it opening day at 1:50.

Pure ownage. There's no way you could have seen the ending coming, okay well, maybe a few parts. But it was totally unexpected. It's alot more graphic then the first at times, I left the movie theater saying: OMFG, OMFG OMFG OMFG!! I loved it and still love it. I think it blows the first one out of the water.

Didn't you ever wonder why the chica never got f*cked up on the gas? or that the evil mastermind said everything literally ("the numbers are all in the back of your heads" "your son is safe and secure"). Guy Ritchie would laugh at an ending like that since it's considerably predictable.

I honestly don't think the first one had the greatest ending, but it was alot more screwed up than this one. The second was way too hollywoodised, way too informative and way too draged on with the plot line. The first one gave you little hints to what was going on and emphasised the "you would be ting in your pants if you were in this position" type of directing which is much more effective in todays horror films.

Okay...first of all, he didn't mention anything about the ending or what happened. And also, about him giving hints and ...I think that was cool, b/c movies aren't supposed to be that predictable, so personally, I didn't think it would have be that easy. Like if he said the answers are on the back of your heads, I wouldn't think that literally, b/c it would be too easy. And in regards to the girl not getting ed up...don't you think she could have already had the epidemic in her system?

P.S. Don't worry, I don't hate you...just a friendly discussion hehe

Ofcourse it's discussion only and I don't know why you mentioned the quote ( I was kidding r5a...).

Hey if you liked the movie fine, I'm just saying it wasn't a mindboggler. I know the directors of the movie are smart enough to not mess up any detail, so that's why it was even easier to point out the clues of what the conclusion was going to be. I don't have a problem with the clues or tapes that the wacko was giving the people, cause honestly, the audience needs information, but I think it could have been done in a way that at the end of the movie you thought to yourself "wow, how the #!@@# didn't I get that?".

BTW, get back to studying young lady :whip: :toothless

Since everyone's posting these review thread's about movies, I thought I'd start one about Saw II. I saw it this past weekend, and it was AMAZING! JUST as good as the first one, if not better. The writing, cinematography, editting...was all great. The writer/director or this movie was the young dude in the first one. Didn't know this. He's a genius. A must see if you liked the first one, and scary movies at that. It was great.

Warning...it is quite graphic...more than the first one I believe.

ok I just watched Saw (the first one) last friday night...with my 10 yr old sister who has already watched it.....

:nervous: :nervous: :nervous:
I seriously cant watch that kind of crap!!! It's too much!!

I'll have to get over the first one before even thinking about seeing the second.

Sorry if I spolied anything or gave anything away, didn't mean to. Maybe the thread starter could add into the title [POSSIBLE SPOILERS]?

I am in somewhat of agreeance with you at the first point. I'll give you the son is safe part, I didn't acutally remeber or consider that. So that would have been a good hint, towards the ending. I'm not a scientist or anything, but, with that gas maybe everyone could have diffrent reaction to it (in terms of speed of effection) depending on body mass, ect. Near the end they both looked pretty torn up and I think both were coughing up blood.

They both had execllent endings. But to be honest with you, I liked the second alot more. For some reason I think I knew what was gonna happen at the end of SAW I. But come on, did you really think all of that at the end was gonna happen? I saw some of it, but not nearly as much. You bring up a good point though about it being "hollywoodised" and such, I somewhat agree with that.

RE:HOSTEL,

I've been reading the LGF boards and IMDB boards for it, and all I know so far is that it's gonna be ALOT worse then SAW (in terms of gore) :eyes: I have never had a movie that made me cringe reading text, so I'm very very 50/50 on seeing it, simply becasue I won't be able to handle it. I'll need to get more decentized haha.

Cheers.

I don't know what you're talking about, the fact that I was given all the clues but still didn't figure it out only made the movie better for me. Maybe I would figured it out on my own, except I was too engrossed in the action on screen to even consider thinking about something so complex. That's probably the difference between us, I'm about the movie as a whole, and you're hung up on the ending.
