Hi everyone:)

The title says it all, I am moving to Amsterdam with my fiance( some of u know Isaac) in 3 wks. for atleast 4 months. Just wondering if anybody who's been there or is from there could give us any info? I am esp. interested in where to look for an appartment. Thanks in advance!!

I have a friend who is dutch and lives in amsterdam, and she looked for a place to live for about 6 months, apprantly if you want somthing close to the station and at a reasonable price, you have to wait a long time, waiting lists etc...

also when she moved in, she had to buy light fixtures, fridge, stove, all that stuff, she said its not standard over there.

I know that she had a bitch of a time finding and moving into the place.

that being said, i visited her this summer, and the DAMMAGE (amsterDAM) rules!

No tips, but I'm just chiming in to say that you're immensely lucky to be doing this. I'd kill for such an opportunity.

you found a job? or want to trade a snowy winter for a rainy one ;)

That's awesome Sandra!! I was there this summer and absolutely loved it. I stayed in a hostel while I was there so I'm not sure about apartments etc. If you get the chance visit a small city called Utrecht about an hour east of Amsterdam. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. I hope you and Isaac have a blast.

ps. easiest mode of transportation in Amsterdam is by bike. but get used bikes, they tend to get stolen. :)
