This was posted on the Serious message board today for anyone interested:

"Serious celebrate its 10th birthday in 2006, and what a 10 years it has been. Serious began life at The Cross, as a platform to showcase the new talent from the artist management roster with the likes of Judge Jules, Graham Gold and John Kelly and the then little known DJ Sonique, who later became not only a big DJ but a huge international pop star. After the Cross extension Serious took the club night to new heights enabling it to create a new club night that stood alone in its own right. This new club night came from the success of the 2nd room at the Cross, now known as the Dusted room where 2Funky (Director Dan De Sausmarez) and Norman Jay pioneered the distinctive Dusted sound. So 10 years after they opened at The Cross, Kings Cross, London, with Judge Jules headlining the trance arch, and Norman Jay the house arch, Serious & Dusted are now known throughout the UK and internationally, not only for the DJs they manage, but for the quality clubnights they put on. Serious is now well and truly part of the establishment which is the dance music industry of today. Serious about music they really are and each event they endeavour to bring the best quality music for the house and trance lovers of today.

To mark this milestone year Serious will be bidding a fond farewell to The Cross, its much loved home for the last 9years, and will be taking Serious to another level by staging a series of 10 SPECIAL events in and around London. Some of these events are to be held at what they consider to be some of the best clubs London has to offer, and others will be held at exclusive special locations that aren’t necessarily commonly used as clubs but make an amazing setting to hold a special birthday party."

The Cross is a great venue and it will be a shame to see the back of it but I think for Serious it could turn out to be a great move - it should give them the opportunity to put on some big name trance DJ's if they are playing at a venue with a bigger capacity!!

Only time will tell though...
