Is it possible to stretch midi notes out over twice the amount of bars than they are currently over. Basically I have a midi file that I am currently working on. I have timestretched the original vocal and now the midi notes run at twice the speed of the vocal. what I ideally need to do is space the notes out in exactly the places they are now but over 8 bars rather than two.
Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated as I am tearing my hair out.
Thx.

If you have Cubase SX2/SX3 (dunno about previous versions) you can do this with a logical editor preset. Select the midi notes you'd like to timestretch, goto: Midi(top of screen)->Logical Presets->Standard set 1, here you can find "double tempo" and "half tempo" functions
Reason can also do this (select notes, right click and there you can set the tempo in percentages, if I remember correctly.. haven't used Reason for ages :p ) |

Excellent. Do you know if you can then resave this as a midi file, with the changed info?

| In cubase you should be able to export the project to a midi file. With the changed tempo. |
