Not really. I desire money for the freedoms it gives me. Like freedom from getting an "education" through the current "system". I'd spend my time developing my other skills which honestly would contribute to society a hell of a lot more than the stuff I'm currently doing. |

There is that side of it, but there is also a desire of money to fulfill basic needs, or live more comfortably,
however, after those have been fulfilled it turns into a quest for "stuff" which represents status |

Yep, if i was filthy rich, i would care less about status. I would just want my mansion, cars, drugs & harem of whores. |

well the desire to fullfill other needs usually doesn't involve the 'making money' aspect. but you are in a way correct. i know i've recommended a million books on this forum but i really recommend:
"Who Am I? The 16 basic desires that motivate our actoins and define our personalities" by Steven Reiss...
