Dave

It's a yearly thing she goes through. Last year it was Tiesto, this year Markus. I'm betting Ferry Corsten is next. :stongue:

HOLY-MOTHER-MARKUS-VAN-BUUREN!!!!!!
I never thought I would hear Markus drop Mojado-Naranja. WTF is going on!?!?! That set tonight was the most uncharactaristic thing I have ever heard. Not saying it wasn't good...but just not what I (or any of my friends) expected. Sounds like something I would hear at....my bedroom! That was Markus playing a lot harder/trancier than ever before, for the most part, (granted I left at 3, forgive me, I have a flight to catch)...his set just had almost no representation of what makes Markus a unique DJ and producer. Maybe he just felt a need to bang out some mainstream beats....I dunno. Not criticizing, really, just wondering what other peeps thoughts are...

Holy , that is so ing funny. I was seriously about to come on and call him Markus van Shuuren...kinda close to what you said.

Anyhow, what a ing amazing night...I thought at least. Scumfrog (set time, 11:30 - 1:20) was verrry impressive -- even got Markus as he just sat there for awhile mesmerized by all the crazy things Scummy was doing....anyhow once Markus got on (1:20am - 4:10am), it only took Markus about two tracks to make the whole place realize he was coming with some harrrddd beats. Simply amazing. Honestly, about the fifth or sixth time I've heard Markus in a club and easily the best set I've ever heard from him overall. And easily the hardest set I've ever heard from him, radio or in person.

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWWOWO!!!!

Asked him what Track #8 was from his Shanghai set (which he played tonight), and he would not say, but he did agree that it's amazing track. He played a new track of his, no official title yet, and WOWOWOWOW it's awesome!!!

And what a crowd!!!! Ruby Skye was shockingly packed! I was hoping and thought the place would at least get a bit packed, but the main floor and mezzanine area was all full of people and you had to weave your way through the crowd. Simply impressive

Tonight, Spundae took a huge risk crowd wise, IMO, and everyone came out in force!! HOOORRAYYY!!!!

One hour of tomorrow (today's, Thursday's) GDJB will be a rebroadcast of tonight's set, BTW. I hope the last hour. WOWOWOWOW.

Peace out. Will post pics tomorrow.

Dave- Please please tell me you took Pictures?!?!
DaveT
Yeah, I got pics...will put them up tomorrow...err; today.

Man, I am so exhausted. Have been killing myself at work and tonight I hit a wall...but somehow worked my way trough it. Tonight was surely memorable....dunno how I ever lasted. Very few DJs could ahve pulled that off!!

Yes that was an amazing party. Scumfrog came in full force with his tribal house beats, complete with live drum set and it was HAWT. I was sad to see him step down, but then Markus whipped the crowd up right away. Markus' set actually sounded a lot like last week's GDJB set. I think he played every track from that set! And as usual Markus was mingling and having fun backstage when he wasn't on. Such a down-to-earth guy...

ab-so-ing-lutely CRAZY NIGHT.

This was deffinitely one of my fav nights at Ruby Skye (vibe and crowd size was perfect for a thanksgiving party) and I agree with Dave, this was one of the best performances by Markus. From the first track on he never let up. First tune I can't ID right now but second was Mode Hookers - Breathe (Instrumental Mix) and the whole place went out of their mind. Scumfrog played a solid 2 hr bangin set before Markus with a very tribal/hardstyle mixture of house and hits live drum kit was pretty sick. But I can't get over Markus' set, it was so unreal. Now this wasn't your typical Markus set I mean he came on with this hard, ruthless, bangin house sound for the first hour which is not something you'd expect from the Schulz. He did however eaze into his prog/house self during the second hour with some fresh new tunes along with like The Proluctors - The Deep Show, Markus Schulz feat Airwave - Ballymena, and RR Workshop - Electrolux w/ Ridgewalkers feat EL - Find (Acappella). And then the last hour was pure trance with soooo many great tunes.

Last hours tracklist looked something like this: Whiteroom - Someday, Dogzilla - Without You (DUB) UNREAL IN RUBY SKYE'S SOUND SYSTEM, Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (G&D Remix), Way Out West - Killa (Orkidea Remix), Markus feat Departure - Without You Near (Gabriel & Dresden Original Mix), Nalin & Kline - Open Your Eyes (Markus & Elevation Remix), and ENCORE was Above & Beyond - Air For Life AND OHHHH THE BASSSSSS WAS SOOOO OUT OF CONTROL

Its 6:30 and I'm exhausted so if I misplaced a track, my bad....

enough reviewing for now...time to crash...........

PS. DaveT you and your camera ROCK! ;)
