A track that the drow likes - have to check it out !
Feel as if the track should kick in @ around 1:30, after the intro sweeps (Don't like the part around 1:00 in particular)
This track has vocal potential. Check if you can find a nice female singer, after adding the Fx & stuff i think this could be something. |

hey guys... thanks for the comments
this is definitely a lil longer than most sample clips nils... but i figured all you listeners could appreciate the track a little more with a longer clip.
glenns... i got your pm, i would be able to get you a full version once the track is complete. we're gonna be looking at some labels though.. so of course... no sharing, only for spinning.

well if you'll listen abit to my show you'll hear that im only spinning legal stuff (im speaking during the show) so that's an obvious thing for me
i hope you'll manage to finish it and sign it sometime in the near future...
thx! |

Here in albany there's like 40 clubs...most are hip hop, but some have 3 floors :D |

hey, thanks for more responses.
abhora, we'll look into the percussion. i can see how everyone is saying its on the weak side and sorta needs some stronger hits.
also the buildup is a tad bit long... and so is the breakdown. our previous track morning haze sorta had this problem as well. we had given it to armin and markus and they loved it, but they just felt like everything was too long and stretched out. i guess we need to figure out a way to shorten our tracks without rushing anything. we'll definitely be looking into all of your comments and making changes where we feel necessary.
oh yea, and living in nyc doesn't exactly make it any easier.... probably harder i'd say. there are so many well-known dj's and producers that perform here. unless if you are already well known or if you have connects, it is so hard to find gigs. |

at least you have an opportunity... i'm not exactly from the boonies (DC) but it's still hard to get your name out in a crowd that will only move to hip hop (and the occasional house). NYC got soooo much diversity when it comes to all that. I think LA and San Fran would be pretty diverse as well.
Think about the producers in the midwest... i'm sure it's hard to get exposure there
didn't mean to go so offtopic, good luck polishing off the song :) |

a very impressive tune i must say. beautiful atmosphere and very chill vibe.
the kick is definitely too thin and i would desceibe the bass as too "narrow". try something that takes up a bigger frequency chunk. the open hat also stands out a bit too much to me. the strings with that filtered synth are beautiful, but the vocals do more to take away from that mood than they do to enhance it. as professor ethereal mentioned, that double kick rushes what is otherwise a very fluid and mellow track.
in all honesty i didn't notice a problem with the length. it seemed to go by very fast, which doesnt usually happen when i'm trying to critique something.
beautiful work man, i'd love to see where this one ends up.
and regarding the midwest, it's not as bad as people think. i still manage to play out several times a month at fairly decent sized venues. i think the dj to casual listener ratio is a lot higher here though, everyone is a dj it seems. |

I couldn't agree more.
I'd even want an extended version. |

First and foremost, whatever happened to "Hydro - Morning Haze?"
Seriously I've still got that on my old computer, it's absolutely brilliant.
It'd be a tragedy if that wasn't released!
EDIT:
Your song starts off beautifully, however at the 55sec mark, I think you shouldn't cease the 'drums' or the 'poings' because that's what makes the start so good. Also, at 1:04 it really feels like an anticlimax... maybe some more FX?
Nice splicing of the vocals aswell... sounds very good. Bass seems a little repetitive also after a while.
Definately still think Morning Haze was your best work :)
Hope this goes well for you :) |
