wow, I like this thread. Ive always loved film scores, and Gladiator has by far one of the most beautiful scores of any film-Zimmer's best work.
btw, The Rock was not completely by Hans was it? Only part I believe. |

His track, Hunger, from the Black Hawk Down album is just superb. Talk about the build up of a song. From the Thin Red Line, he did this excellent chorus section where the "tribe" sing a melody that gives me goosebumps every time I watch the movie.
However, his best score I think was in Last of the Mohicans, which he later changed around a bit to make another excellent score for Pearl Harbor. If you want more atmospheric stuff from Zimmer, Gladiator is your movie, however he has done even more powerful scores in my opinion. |
