| I hope this catches on so I have less people yelling at me on the counter. Specifically, the difference between certified cheques, personal cheques, bank drafts and money orders, and that one particular bank doesn't have access to all the information at another bank. Would cut out 95% of mismanaged yelling at me on a daily basis. Save that anger for your family instead. :toothless |

Good one RJ!!! And wtf, like YOU need a reason to post a thread? ;)
A few related links (you'll see these in the "links" section of RJ's link but I thought I'd point out a few key sections):
Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada ("Beware of Scams" section):
http://www.osfi-bsif.gc.ca/osfi/ind...px?DetailId=164
You should also check out their "Banks" section for more detailed info on regulations and legislation. Some real page-turners in there! :p
Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments ("Complaint Process" section):
http://www.obsi.ca/obsi/pages_english/comp_home.php3
EDIT:
Actually, I compared the two "Complaint" sections (FCAC vs. OBSI) and the FCAC is way more powerful! It actually shows you the specific resolution process for your own FI!!! Forget my link! |
