Pretty identical group with the one that former Yugoslavia had in the World Cup 98 in France. It feels pretty dumb too have them as 4th seeds because they won their group in the Qualifying, I guess it's all about the stupid FIFA World Ranking..

it isn't all about the rankings, it's one of the factors used by FIFA to pick the seeds. i used it strictly as i don't know exactly how they pick them. |

No matter how the groups look like, none is as interesting as the consistent group of death. Since Germany has to be in Group A and Brazil in Group B... I will predict:
Group D (Group of Death)
Netherlands
Italy
Saudi Arabia
Costa Rica
Or something to that effect :)
How is it such a coincidence that every tournament (WC or Euro) Group D is so crazy??

I'm almost absolutely sure Portugal is going to be a 2nd seed.. if there's going to be 2nd seeds. One of these days I saw an article on a credible sports website that confirmed this. I might be completely wrong with other teams tho.
The thing I'm unsure is whether they only make 1st seeds and then divide the other teams by continents, or divide the teams in 4 groups like I did. |
