I just got this ty job at some ty warehouse from my friends mom who runs a placement agency.
its a really lame job, $10/hour and borring work, but its a permanent position if i like it. There's opportunity to move up to $13/hour and drive a machine, i'm not certified for, but i've driven very similar machines for over a year.
I asked the boss lady (she's black) about when i can get trained on the machine..and she said 'not for a long time. we're not busy enough to need anymore machine drivers' which was a find answer..so i carried on.
i asked her later about when and stuff and she said january maybe...blah blah blah not really important.
but today this new guy got hired, he was tall black and gangster looking...and he was just doing the same kind of ty work that i was doing...until later on in the day, i go to take a piss and i see she's training him on the machine, and there's no reason why i shouldn't have been trained except for 'because we're not busy enough' thing.
like wtf is that? i work hard and its not like i have any reasons as to why i shouldn't drive the machines, but she was all buddy buddy with this new guy today and that pisses the out of me.
i hate saying its about race..but what else could one think? |

| maybe he was the last guy hired to be a machine driver, and got hired before you did. It's just that he came in for training only now? |

maybe the guy is a friend of the boss, or a friend of a friend.. the job could already be assigned when you asked her, but technically you asked first so she had to make excuses

he wasn't though. he was on the machine for like 25 minutes and then back to ty assembly line work, but now he has been trained and i havn't..so when the time comes to 'oh we need 1 more machine driver' i'll miss out, because why train 2 people and only use 1? |

You just negotiated the wrong way. You should have said something like
"But I feel like i've got a noose around my neck in this position, I really feel confined here. I haven't felt this way since I was a little kid and I fell out of the oak tree in my back yard onto a white bedsheet my cousins were holding taut. They didn't hold on hard enough and I hit the ground, breaking my leg, ripping three holes in the bedsheet, and confining myself indoors for a month. Luckily they still could use the sheet as a Halloween costume, but I was devastated. And if I were advanced to this driving position, i'd whip this place right into shape. Whip it right accross the back until it passes out with efficiency. I'd pick and choose my work attire carefully, making sure my shirts are always 100% cotton. If I were hired as the driver here, i'd work harder than a ****** with a piece of fried chicken dangling in front of him."
But as it stands now, you got shafted, whitey. Can you dig it? |

Maybe she thinks that's her way to get him to her.
Or maybe he's worked on that machine (or similar one) at his previous job.
Or maybe she just doesn't like YOU and is willing to let anyone else train on it.
Also, how hard is it to run this machine if it only takes 25 minutes of training. Tell her you'd really appreciate the opportunity and you'd do the training for free if it only takes that long. It's only $5. |

if you didn't offer to go down on her then you obviously didn't want to drive the machine bad enuff. you need to fit in more with the company culture wear phat pants and act like a wigga. maybe they'll forget ur white
