nah, I was in that position the entire show and he was cueing tracks up. He usually has 3 cds always cued up and has a scratch record on the side.

I finally got it to work

Halliwell imo isn't better than conway.

Conway may scratch a little too much, but halliwell scratches not enough, and s with the song WAYYY too much.

Oh and notice that Rane just sitting there all lonley while the DJM 1000 gets all the attention :(

That Valentino Kanzyani track rocks!

To compare Conway to Halliwell isn't really comparing like for like. Although I haven't heard Conway live I know that Halliwell is intense both as an individual and a DJ. His skills as a turntablist are not the same as Conway no doubt but they play their sets at different BPMs and the faster the pace of the music the harder it is to get really technical.

Also it's hard to appreciate what Halliwell is doing due to the difficulties of recording live at a club but the stuff he does with the tracks actually sounds good on a big system and does make the place really go off.

He does cue the record in about the usual time that it takes most working DJs i.e. 5 to 10 seconds. When you play your tracks on a regular basis it doensn't take much to get that quick even if you play something for the first time.

I'm also with Freak on this one, he is a really nice guy and good fun to work with. Doesn't have the attitude that some DJs have.

Halliwell really gets into it and knows how to entertain.

Cheers

5-10 seconds? My ass :wtf:

It takes 5 to 10 seconds for me to figure out wtf I am doing after I put the CD in :wtf:

Conway does play all styles of music. I've heard him go from house to hardstyle and scratch to that at like 150bpm :)

They're both good DJ's and i'm not complaining about that. But I think conway just has the scratching down better than halliwell. :D

im not a working dj, but it certainly doesnt take 30 seconds to cue a track! if you know the bpm range that the next track is in, and where you want to cue in, it shouldnt take more than 15-20 seconds to do this. put the pitch adjustment in the general place you think it should be, cue the next song in about 15 seconds, and then drop it in, pitch riding to get in sync. not too hard if you think about it. how else do you think djs get creative with their styles? they cue in/beatmatch quickly, so more time can be spent doing other things.

razzi.
