I am hoping for Armin. But if that is the case and it is held at Crobar or Spirit I would bet it wouldn't be 18+. Which would suck for my girlfriend and a couple friends. There is no way you can have Armin playing a NYE event in a club like that with an 18+ crowd. There would be no room whatsoever. |
Maybe you didnt' get from my post that Crobar already has a New Year's party that they're selling tickets for.
P.S. It's not Armin |

| Also, can someone tell me why Crobar doesn't get good talent for NYE. They manage to all the other nights of the year. Why have they had residents the last two years (and not Sander/Ferry/Sasha type residents either)? |

I think it's kinda cool they have residents on NYE. Shows they really respect their DJ's. Sucks for us because most of us are not into the gay guido scene.:haha: |

Not big enough to have a top name dj.
Unless they use econ 101 and run up the prices to equate supply and demand. Then everyone would complain.
A big name can draw 5,000 or 6,000 capacity on new years.
that's what i think. |

No, I can kind of get what you're saying. NYE in NYC draws in all of the tourists who care to see the ball drop and all of the people who don't normally go out. For that reason, a club like Crobar, which has gained a reputation as one of "the" clubs in NYC can charge a lot of little and still survive on it's status. I know this happens a lot during the year because I'll be standing in line and hear somebody from like Wisconsin saying that they're visiting NYC for a week and they wanted to go to a club and Crobar is where the bellhop/cab driver/friend of theirs said they should go. They know little to nothing about the DJs and are just coming because it's a cool NYC danceclub. |

| Most people on here will find this crazy, but Boris and Calderone together is a much bigger draw than Ferry Corsten. Those guys pack that place out much more than any big name trance dj. |

I agree, they do pack the place out. After Cox there were tons of people waiting to get in at 6 am for afterhours. It's just not really the scene that I'd like and this is the 2nd year in a row that they've abandoned the people that come out on Friday nights for the trance and prog DJs that they get and given NYE to the B&T crowd that usually comes out for Saturday night events. I don't get why they didn't have Calderone at 8 AM and have a progressive DJ to start the night. That way they'd cater to both crowds (which is kind of what happened for Cox) |
