Joey Waters - Kaido Dreams [128, uplifting]

Inspired by my visit to San Antonio earlier this year. This started out alot differently. For starters, the piano was much more emphasized as well as the strings. I originally wanted to do a melodic, orchestral piece with lush fx and subtle percussion but I suddenly had an idea and it blossomed from there. The BPM increased, the synths got harder and the piano work went to the back. It's something completely different to what I started with and something im 100% pleased with. :D

Hey mate,

You have some really nice ideas with this track. The style is pretty banging. The build up is good.

Break with the piano seems a bit empty, lead sound is generic but is ok.

However what makes your track difficult is the eq'ing and mastering. the track does not have a nice clear tone. If feels as if a lot of sounds are in the middle frequencies and low ones. It is not a pleasant listen because of it. The concept of your track is quite good, the overall sound at the end of the day needs polishing.

Keep it up!

another typical Joe Waters track here;)

mate, you seriously have a nice style, but the eqing needs a whole lot of work to be honest, this could rock mate, if you manage to eq the track properly,

i suggest you to read some tutorials or something about eqing/mastering, they should help a lot :)

keep it up, man! ;)

Hey Joey ;)

very cool track you got here, very definite joey waters style...just as mentioned before you need to take a look at the equalising and mastering...but very nice ideas indeed :)

^ what they said about the eqing ^

Nice idea and bass sound. The piano is beautiful, but needs a little more content
The main synths are a little loud and fade around too quickly.

once the eqing and mixing is all said and done, you got an awesome track here.

keep it up!

The mastering has always brought me down. I can create decent melodies but I cant master the bastards. It's extremely... annoying to put it politely. I've been producing for 2 years now and I still cant master properly. lol.

Thanks for the feedback guys, really appreciate it. :)

I concur with nomen and peter, and also about you have a great style man. Mastering is eays to fix, but to get a cool style as u do is hard ;).

I have been producing for 8 years or so, and still I dont know if I can master properly. (i'm just plain stupid) You got some energy in your tracks. I like the sound of your synths :) What have you used to make this tune?

JoeyEnv
FL Studio, Vanguard, Pro 53 some Sytrus. The synth that hits after 28 seconds is a guitar you know. I filtered the channel with echo, a touch of reverb and compression and loved how it sounded. ;)
