They'd be much less likely to be killing eachother if they were... say... in the work force doing something useful. But no, our wonderful education system says that you need to goto school til you're 20+ just to make a living.
Teens don't think they're tough because they kill eachother. They kill eachother because school is a dirty place to be. It's boring, and it stores all of your energy up in a frustrating environment. Tempers are going to flare when you have nothing better to do with your time, no, when you're not ALLOWED to DO anything with your time, other than learn about Christopher Columbus and talk to other kids while you sit on your ass for 6 hours.
I don't understand why the world thinks you need to goto school til you're 25. Learn to read and write, learn to add 2+2, then get married and get a job. Anyone can learn any job, jobs are routine for the most part. Let SOMEONE raise the kids, let the other spouse make the money, and let society take care of itself. In a world focused on economic prosperity, we've forgotten that without a strong community fabric, you'll eventually end up with nothing.
The neat part is that, with the aging demographic of the Western world, which is going to result in a labour shortage (that is, the shortage of available workers) society might just learn this lesson sooner than we think. |

| yeah i saw it. not the actual shooting but right after saw the mess. it was on martingrove where i live. i kill you i die from ur friends gun, ur friend dies from my friends gun etc...on going cycle. murder is one sticky subject |
