Lately a lot of trance tracks have been getting dropped. Very good listen many of the times. :)
I love Danny D's new trance track called "Air Break"...
it always pumps me up to hear it. i wanna download it or find a comp CD w/ it on it! :gsmile:

I dont like his track.
the first half (of the drive at 5)is usually ok to listen to and with him going more googoo for trance lately(did I mention ive run into him at traxx in sauga a bunch of times buying up all the trance..bastard) hes been throwing in more songs... which in a way is kind of ruining them hearing them on the radio all the time(air for life :( ) but maybe its a good thing that more is being played. but maybe not cause its just a tease. they will never fully convert. not even partially. just odd tracks here and there. |

lol this track is absolute garbage, it sounds like its from 99/00 and even put up against songs from then its brutal. I donno what he used to make it, but he should learn to use the program to its full potential before churning out a piece of crap like this. You trance lovers can't seriously like this????? Its ok as a random song on the radio but the only reason its even on the radio is cause he works there. How many tracks do all your favorite djs play in their sets, theres always a few, but i doubt anyones gonna be playin this CHOON!!!
Its out of key, the samples dont sound right with the bass, some of the samples he uses are really outdated and cliche, its not mastered properly - the kicks dont cut through the mix at all. Sounds like he just had an orgasm and tossed down every trance cliche he knows.
Besides that his trance mixing blows too... he plays like lethal industry into air for life into the drill, hes all over the map (though it is a radio show) and has no ear for trance whatsoever. Theres way better songs out there he could be playing as a radio dj. Anyone remember that interview with him and the hammer and tiesto? The stupid questions they asked. They didn't even kno who tiesto was. "So I hear you're the #1 dj, how does that feel?, so i hear you have a record label, is it new?" So a year ago hes got no idea whats goin on in the trance world or the production world, then 6 months later hes got a trance track out lofl.
To his defense though Danny d can actually mix very well, try playing a song every 2/3 mins beatmatched and on time like he does. Granted he covers up a lot with his notorious backspins, but its hard and he does it very well. Technically hes a very good dj... but he should leave trance alone or at least spend the time to learn it. What happened to his full euro drive at 5's, they were great haha.
I'm glad we're starting to get trance on the radio. Its great to hear and hopefully the commercial audience takes to it, maybe we'll start moving away from the US crap thats shoved down our throats on the radio/most clubs, but if z103 is going to spend the time to introduce it to this area, why not spend the time to hire someone that knows about it, it would probably work out a lot better for them and their listeners. |
